Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Cybersecurity Analyst – Cybersecurity Engineering Lead (24-188) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in the Colorado Springs, CO, area.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.

This position ensures that C2BMC-Global realizes the Cyber architecture, requirements, and technical baseline required. The Cybersecurity Engineering Lead will represent the program from a Cybersecurity perspective in assorted Senior meetings, Conferences, and Program Milestones with both Program and Customer Leadership. Pivotal provides a forward look at the Cybersecurity strategy across multiple task orders for the C2BMC Program. The Cybersecurity Engineering Lead will work closely with the Chief Engineer, Chief Architect, ISSM, and Authorizing Official. Documenting lessons learned, as well as the best security engineering practices and industry standards, will be required in daily tasks. Responsible for working with program operations leadership to mature cyber operations and protection measures.

Essential Functions:

  • Travel between Colorado Springs and Huntsville is required to support Customer and Program Leadership meetings is required.
  • Work with distributed functional personnel at development and operational sites may also be required.
  • Considered an expert authority in discipline.
  • Identity and Access Management methodologies, encryption algorithms, cryptology, database, and enterprise information security architecture.
  • Proficiency in implementing Cybersecurity principles and requirements relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation.
  • Experience in cybersecurity requirements evaluation and validation.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity systems engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol [TCP/IP], Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol [DHCP]) and directory services (e.g., Domain Name System [DNS]).
  • Knowledge of STIG application and hardening operating systems. Knowledge of Cyber technologies (e.g., HBSS, ArcSight, ACAS, etc.) and how they impact a mission system.
  • Experience in Cyber threat assessment and risk management of a mission system.
  • Knowledge of cyber operations and operational impacts.
  • Analyze design constraints, trade-offs, and detailed system and security designs to identify necessary Agile lifecycle support.
  • Apply security policies to applications that interface with one another.
  • Assess the effectiveness of information protection measures utilized by system(s).
  • Assess threats to and vulnerabilities of the computer system(s) to develop a security risk profile.
  • Build, test, and modify product prototypes using working or theoretical models.
  • Conduct assessments of the application's security design for appropriate security controls that protect the confidentiality and integrity of Information.
  • Integrate information assurance (IA) or IA-enabled products.
  • Design and develop secure interface specifications between interconnected systems.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and update system security measures (including policies and requirements) that provide confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation. Design hardware, operating systems, and software applications to sufficiently address Cybersecurity requirements.
  • Design or integrate appropriate data backup capabilities into overall system designs and ensure proper technical and procedural processes exist for secure system backups and protected backup data storage.
  • Design to minimum security requirements to ensure requirements are met for all systems and applications.
  • Develop architectures or system components consistent with technical specifications.
  • Develop detailed security design documentation for component and interface specifications to support system design and development.
  • Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan the development of a new application or modification of an existing application.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
     

Basic Qualifications:

Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume if applicable.

  • An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required to start.
  • 14 years with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 12 years with a master's degree or 18 years experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IASAE – Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $225,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
