Position Purpose: The Senior Mechanical Engineer works within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and leads the mechanical design of complex mechanical assemblies.


Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Range: $100,000 - $185,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • In this position, you will work on the design, development, management, testing, and deployment of structures, mechanisms, and electrical assemblies for small spacecraft. This job will include original design work as well as updates/maintenance to existing designs, analysis, and documentation.

 Required Qualifications/Education:

  • Extensive experience designing precision metallic assemblies using SolidWorks CAD.
  • The ability to create detailed part fabrication drawings with GD+T, as well as assembly drawings.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, creating BOMs and assembly instructions.
  • Experience leading a project from inception to launch.
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills in a supported, but independent work environment.
  • Experience with structural FEA software (Ansys preferred).
  • 5+ years (minimum) of relevant experience.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.


Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.  However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.
