What You’ll Do:

As the VP of Human Resources, you will lead the strategic direction of our most critical element  – our people. You will define, build, implement, and measure people strategies that align with our mission, vision, and values.

Partnering cross-functionally, you will develop and implement strategies that harmonize business intelligence with the natural preferences of our team, creating scalable systems for our current realities and future growth. This is an executive role reporting directly to the CEO and requires a balance of big-picture strategic thinking and day-to-day operational management in a fast-paced environment.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Develops and executes HR/People strategies that support organizational objectives and growth through fostering a culture of high performance, inclusivity, belonging, continuous improvement, and innovation
  • Regularly communicates clear roles, goals, and expectations for team members, promoting a culture of feedback and accountability 
  • Defines the People Roadmap in alignment with cross-functional lifecycles (e.g. Sales, Finance, Operations, Technology) to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to talent management and business objectives 
  • Ensures the effective execution of of talent acquisition strategies that attract and retain talent, globally
  • In support of our values, team, and partners, you will collaborate at multiple levels, cross-functionally, to ensure alignment to people strategies, and facilitate discussions on change initiatives, development, and transformation.  
  • Ensures the organization’s policies and practices comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the United States and the United Kingdom, mitigating risk, ensuring equitability, and supporting long-term sustainability.
  • Reignites and oversees strategies and programs that promote equity, inclusion, diversity, and a sense of belonging across the organization where all employees feel respected, recognized, and valued.
  • Designs, develops, and implements social programs that align with our value of sustainability and support our desire to contribute and engage with our communities
  • Ensures the resolution of internal employee relations or candidate relations, providing guidance, and support through thorough and impartial investigations, promoting a culture of trust 
  • Oversees the management of global and multi-state payroll processes, ensuring accurate and compliance payroll and tax administration across global jurisdictions
  • Partners with the leadership to design, develop, and implement talent management and development programs that increase the company’s talent density to optimize growth for the business and our people (both personal and professional)
  • Steers the designs, implementation, audits, and oversees the administration of Slingshot’s total rewards, ensuring meaningful, global, to attract and retain talent

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or relevant field
  • 5+ years of proven experience leading a People/Human Resources function at the executive level, preferably in the public sector market.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in the People/Human Resources function, preferably in a technology environment
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Proven leader with artful communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Thrives in fast-paced, start-up environments
  • Ability to travel, up to 10% of the time as required

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree in business administration
  • Professional experience in government subcontracting environments, space, or aerospace sectors
  • Previous hi-technology start-up experience
