Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our finance team. The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and reporting for Intuitive Machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate and partnership taxation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Tax Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and managing all tax-related matters in close coordination with outside tax advisors. The Tax Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws, minimizing tax liabilities, optimizing tax strategies, and providing strategic guidance on tax planning and reporting matters.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain policies to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and filing of tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, property tax, and other applicable taxes.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, assess their impact on the company, and ensure necessary adjustments are made to maintain compliance.
  • Proactively identify and implement tax planning opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the company's tax position.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis on complex tax issues, provide recommendations, and collaborate with internal stakeholders and outside advisors to implement tax-efficient strategies.
  • Evaluate the tax implications of business transactions, acquisitions, and reorganizations to support decision-making processes.
  • Serve as the primary contact for tax authorities, external auditors and advisors regarding tax-related inquiries, audits, and issues.
  • Represent the company's interests during tax examinations, resolve disputes, and negotiate settlements, if required.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with tax authorities, external tax advisors, and consultants.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls for income tax accounting and reporting.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or CPA) preferred.
  • 8-10+ years’ experience in tax planning, compliance, and reporting, ideally within a public company setting in the aerospace industry or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international tax laws, regulations, and principles.
  • Experience with Umbrella Partnership C  Corporation (Up-C) structures and their associated tax impacts a plus.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing tax strategies that drive tax efficiencies and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Experience managing tax audits and effectively engaging with tax authorities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
