We are looking to add a Senior Staff Accountant to our finance team. If you enjoy working in a startup environment and are passionate about making an impact in a growing company, we would like to hear from you. 

In this position you will play a crucial role in managing complex accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial information, and supporting the company’s financial operations. Your contributions will play an essential role in supporting the company through hyper-growth as you forecast the future and while scaling both revenue and internal relationships. 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes in a timely manner, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation workpaper, and account variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and generate account reconciliations and management reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances. Research and resolve accounting issues
  • Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, as well as other regulatory filings.
  • Support various accounting projects and work closely with other departments, including Supply Chain, Operations, and Business Development, across the whole organization.
  • Develop and implement internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university or college; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience. 
  • Must be willing to work at or relocate to headquarters in Austin, TX as this is an in-office position.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP system and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with public audits or working at a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Experience working in a start-up, high-growth, and venture-backed company.
  • Experience with government contracts
