Job description

Astroscale is seeking a motivated individual for the position of Manager of Global Programs. The Manager of Global Programs will play a critical role in coordinating and working with program managers and program teams of all global Astroscale engineering programs to ensure common program management tools and processes are shared across all programs. This position requires strong experience and understanding of program management and excellent communication skills to work directly with all global program managers and key technical program engineering leads.This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly growing global company seeking to address the safe and sustainable development of space through development of in-orbit services technologies. Some international travel will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and document a standard Astroscale global program management process and best practices based on input from all global programs
  • Establish standard global program reporting metrics
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among all program managers across different global offices, ensuring alignment of project management approach, program reviews, schedule management, resource planning, and meeting customer needs.
  • Identifying opportunities for global program management efficiency improvements, common management tools, potential resource sharing, and areas of cost savings.
  • Facilitate communications with all local procurement managers to ensure procurement practices and efforts are coordinated with all global Astroscale programs.
  • Reports global program status, schedule, program issues, program risks, and resource issues to global management.
  • Supports global and local Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) implementation and improvement efforts and initiatives.
  • Supports review and feedback of new proposal bids and new projects
  • Reports to Global Chief Engineer and supports all tasks and efforts of the Global Chief Engineering office.



Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in program management on space engineering projects or related technical program
  • Experience managing all phases of the life cycles of a complex technical program from proposal, planning, managing a team, program plan execution, and delivery to the customer.
  • Experience with various project management tools, techniques, and processes.
  • Effective communication skills including strong written and verbal communication capabilities in English.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative international environment.Desirable Skills
  • Broad knowledge of spacecraft subsystems & various satellite engineering disciplines.
  • Familiarity with space industry standards, best practices, and engineering development process.
  • Knowledge of space debris, space situational awareness, rendezvous, docking, proximity operations and/or formation flying.
  • Familiarity with space related international export regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working in an international organization.
