Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Electronics Engineering Manager to join our Integrated National Systems (INS) Engineering organization within the Payload & Ground Systems division of Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector.  This management position will be performed in conjunction with a primary role on a contract or serving as part of an Independent Research and Development (IRAD) project. This position is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and reports directly to the Hardware and Integrated Logistics Engineering Department Manager.

This role requires broad electronics engineering knowledge and the ability to lead and manage a group of up to 15 individuals. They will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who can develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's-STEM degree; 5 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's-STEM degree; 3 Years of relevant experience with a completed PhD-STEM [completed STEM degree is required to be considered for this role]

  • Must have an Active Secret DoD security clearance [US citizenship required]

  • Recent technical leadership experience.

  • Broad knowledge of electrical engineering principles and technologies (analog, digital, power, RF, computer architecture, electronic test equipment)

  • Proven track record leading technical projects and solving difficult electronics / electrical engineering challenges.

  • Familiarity with Space Domain Awareness, Missile Warning, and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance domains.

  • Strong understanding of agile principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Top Secret / SCI clearance

  • Experience with Space Domain Awareness, Missile Warning, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance domains.

  • Experience with the fundamental building blocks of radar systems.

  • Experience with the design and analysis RF electronic components (i.e., Receivers, Transmitters, Antenna).

  • Experience using RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers) to validate and characterize component performance.

  • Experience working in a lab environment and supporting safe lab operations.  

  • Experience with fiber optic converters and modules supporting both digital and RF applications.

  • Knowledge of/experience with Model Driven Engineering (MDE) development.

Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $172,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
