Job description

·         Designing, creating and evaluating 3D printed components to support our Manufacturing and R&D teams. You’ll be operating and maintaining multiple 3D printers to produce parts while maintaining strict safety, production and quality processes.

 

·         Evaluating and debugging the resulting components to ensure the critical quality and design requirements are met. This will involve working closely alongside other teams in Engineering and Manufacturing and will include operating specialist equipment such as antenna measurements in an anechoic chamber.

 

·         Building electromechanical subassemblies consisting of: mechanical components, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), cable harnesses, fixing hardware etc to create Test and Production line equipment. This activity will include testing and verifying designs and updating production documentation and work instructions.

 

·         Other tasks may include, running tests and reporting data, subsystem assembly and maintenance, designing and building jigs and fixtures to improve the Production process, training operators and handing over processes to the Production team, specifying and ordering materials and organisation and control of materials and equipment, including cleaning and maintenance of light duty machinery and tools.

 

·         Production goals and deadlines will be in place, and shift working may (from time to time) will be required. Training will be provided.

 

·         The successful candidate will join a fast-moving and innovative team to create first-of-their-kind products.

Requirements

·         An ability to follow instructions and production processes reliably and repeatably

·         Experienced in assembly of electro-mechanical products: eg assembling PCBAs and mechanical components together, following work instructions, installing cable assemblies, building intricate assemblies

·         Clear written and verbal communication skills

·         Familiarity with hand tools and test equipment and working in and around light-duty manufacturing equipment

·         Strong culture of safety and quality

·         Ability to work individually and as part of a team

·         Level 3 BTEC in an engineering discipline with minimum 2 years experience

·         A good knowledge of ESD and associated precautions

·         IPC-610 Level 2/3 training is advantageous

·         Familiarity with 3D CAD design software, ideally Solidworks, Fusion 360 etc

·         Some knowledge of robotics and machine programming would be advantageous
