Join the team that is delivering Next Gen GEO (NGG) satellite operations for the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission – aiding in early missile warning and defense.

In this role, you will :

· Function as a systems engineering intern, supporting real-time operations NGG satellite ground infrastructure and build-out of the operational area to be used during launch and early orbit satellite raising, system tests, and rehearsal events

· Support test and readiness activities including rehearsals, exercises, launch, and on-orbit checkout activities for NGG

· Provide support to a lead operations engineer for the operational area
Basic Qualifications:
• Associate degree in a STEM field, related work experience and/or technical training. Completed coursework towards a related degree may be considered.
• Must be a US Citizen; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Current Top Secret security clearance.
• Able to work independently within a team and handle multiple priorities and internal customers.
• Ability to tackle detailed technical assignments often requiring learning or developing planning and integration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team based environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products to include SharePoint

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $46,700 - $89,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
