Exotrail is looking for a Satellite System Architect for its space vehicle dedicated to in-orbit rendez-vous. The main role of this person will be to manage the development of the rendez-vous payload in place on the Exotrail LEO plateform.

To do so, both technical and project management skills are required as all members of the team will need to be hands-on.

The current team is composed of several engineers working on different missions of the spacedrop™ : LEO, GEO and Rendez-vous. Your role will be to lead the systems engineering team working on the evolutions of the platform developped for the GEO mission. It requires a high-level knowledge of the architecture of a satellite, a true spirit of innovation and good skills for team work.

Your main tasks will be:

📌Animate and participate in the design of the rendez-vous payload, and needed evolutions for the spacevan platform

📌Manage and perform the system engineering tasks of the project, and the system team

📌Follow the development of the mission from inception to launch

📌Manage subcontractors who provide technical support or equipment

You will work directly with the system team manager and the Project Manager of the SEO In-Orbit Services team.

The position is opened in Exotrail's offices in Toulouse.

 

Preferred Experience 💁‍♀️

Exotrail is looking for a satellite architect with hands-on experience on all the phases of a space project. Typically, the candidate :

  • Must have already worked with and led system team on satellite projects
  • Should have already worked on electrical satellites projects and overseen the development, assembly and tests of the satellite from end-to-end
  • Should also have experience on in-space rendez-vous technics and problematics
  • Shall have an experience as a systems architect
  • Managing technical requirements
  • Managing technical team
  • Writing technical documentation
  • Being at the interface between the technical expert teams
  • Should have experience in data handling , and subsystems interactions analysis

A minimum experience of 7 years in relevant position is required for this role. 10 years of experience in satellite development would be ideal, with a great adaptability to the new environment, and capacity to be autonomous on technical subjects.

In addition, and as importantly, the candidate must have the following mindset:

  • Interest in highly technical work, as well as good project management skills
  • Pragmatism, risk-taking and accountable
  • Good communication skills with fluent English
  • Willingness to join the dynamic, vibrant, demanding environment of a start-up.
