Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Materials Manager to join our Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) team in El Segundo, California.

Boeing El Segundo is an important site for numerous DoD, NASA, & Commercial Satellite & Space programs. Our programs span from the defense of our nation and allies to NASA’s plans to explore deep space.

This Senior Manager position requires a leadership capability that collaborates effectively with peers while leading a team that manages the Materials Management function with excellence in support of all programs at the site.

Primary responsibilities include leading a group of managers and their teams who support the execution of daily schedules and production processes for complex development and production programs in El Segundo.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manages and integrates employee and mid-level manager activities across more than one area in materials management and transportation.
• Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
• Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
• Manages, develops and motivates employees and mid-level managers.
• Ensures that overall budgets, schedules and performance standards are set and attained.   

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• More than 5 years of experience in Production Control and Material Management processes.
• More than 5 years of experience supporting Operations, Materials Management and/or Supply Chain functions in a production environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• More than 10 years of experience in a leadership role (i.e., manager, project manager, team lead, etc.)

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.)

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $160,650 - $217,350
