Duties

  • Manages and integrates operations activities required to support space flight missions across a diverse customer base including NASA programs, Department of Defense, and Kennedy Space Center (KSC) commercial partners and tenants.
  • Establishes and maintains daily spaceport schedule and data requirements using the designated US Space Force, Space Launch Delta 45 (SLD 45) scheduling system (currently β€œStarGate”) and the KSC Spaceport Integrated Master Schedule (SIMS) process.
  • Ensures customer requirements are understood, met, and scheduled. This requires execution and interpretation of policies, procedures, and directives enabling operation of the complex spaceport.
  • Maintains contact with Center management and operations elements, and key managerial, engineering, and operations personnel of commercial partners to assure that activities are properly coordinated and integrated, reducing operational conflict.
  • Assists technical planning personnel in the design of special one-time-only tests not covered by KSC/SLD 45 documentation and supply special instructions to the appropriate support agency.
  • Works with the Office of Protective Services to administer, manage, and maintain the Center access badging process for commercial and subcontractor entry to Kennedy Space Center.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:
  • assisting to coordinate designated resources for space flight missions such as airspace, communications, radio frequency reservations, and/or support personnel;
  • developing, maintaining, or managing SharePoint or website functionality such as scheduling; and
  • assisting security personnel with maintaining physical access credentials.
