What You’ll Do:
As the Senior People Operations Manager, you will own all the operations elements impacting one of our organization's most critical pieces - its people. The Senior People Operations Manager will report to the Vice President of People and Culture, and the ideal individual will enjoy rolling up their sleeves and owning the day-to-day operational aspects of payroll, benefits, and compliance while also engaging in the strategic development of the philosophies we use to implement our total rewards.

Position Responsibilities:
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
- Manages Slingshot’s employee compliance needs (FLSA, AAP, EEO, etc.) and set processes to ensure we’re reporting, filing, and operating compliantly around the globe
- In collaboration with the broader People and Culture team, designs and implements benefits offerings that are meaningful to the organization and drive talent acquisition and retention
- Partners with the Finance team to ensure filing of quarterly federal and state files and remit payment and reporting requirements to federal and local tax agencies not managed by the vendor
- Develops equitable people policies and programs that create clarity, mitigate risk, and provide guidance for decision-making
- Regularly communicate clear roles, goals, and expectations for team members; promote a culture of feedback and accountability
- Leverage our leadership and management competencies to develop, lead, and inspire a diverse, high-performing team
- Analyze compensation bands and market data, employee trends, and data. Proposing areas for improvement within Slingshot’s cash-compensation philosophy, talent programs and competitive benefits offerings to support the needs of our growing workforce
- Supports employee relations issues end-to-end; conducts and documents thorough, and objective investigations and ensures that documentation is organized and appropriately filed; partners with managers to make sure that any needed follow-up occurs timely
- Other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above)
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years experience successfully managing payroll for a multi-state organization
- 3+ years of experience executing and managing global payroll within the United Kingdom
- 7+ years of successful experience building and implementing equitable people programs that drive clarity and mitigate risk
- 5+ years of successful experience managing human capital management systems (such as Rippling, Workday, Zenefits, ADP, Paylocity etc.), a minimum of 2 years experience with Rippling
- 3+ years of experience managing work pension and 401k plans, including adjustments, enrollments, and contributions or reconciliations
- Strong client service skills and willingness to execute and influence within a challenging, fast-paced environment
- Understand and drive the adoption of emerging best practices related to people operations
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Jira Service Desk and the Atlassian suite
- 1+ years of experience in people leadership and management
- Experience within a high-growth start-up environment
- Experience within a government contracting agency

Pay Range: $135,000-$170,000
