Position Overview:

This position is responsible for planning, defining and implementing Component Engineering Requirements to ensure design integrity and hardware robustness in direct alignment with customer's expectations and executing processes and procedures required to follow an EEEE (Electrical, Electronic, Electro-Mechanical, Electro-Optical) component through selection, specification generation, procurement team interaction, and part qualification.

The Individual will work as a member of several Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to implement Component/Reliability Requirements which may include Component Selection, Screening and Qualification Definition, Reliability Studies, Stress Analysis, Component Database management and Supply Chain Guidance

 

Responsibilities:

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning, defining and implementing Component Engineering Process to ensure design integrity and hardware robustness in direct alignment with customer expectations.
  • Executing/Creating processes and procedures required to follow an EEEE (Electrical, Electronic, Electro-Mechanical, Electro-Optical) component through selection, specification generation, procurement, part screening/qualification and data review/inspections.
  • Support Radiation Transport/Characterization Analysis and Implement Radiation Test Plans on Components.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including supplier quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Create Presentations and Participate in Customer Meetings

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or Equivalent
  • 2+ years as an Engineer in High Reliability, Military or Space Flight Environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of EEEE device types, construction, operation and failure analysis
  • Experience working with U.S. Government Department of Defense or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience documenting/managing component requirements using parts control plans and part specifications/data sheets
  • Understanding of radiation survivability (TID, DDD, SEE) of electronic devices in space environments
  • Knowledge of Government, Industry specs and standards (MIL-STD-1547, NASA INST-002, DLA)
  • Strong project leadership, presentation, and decision-making skills

EHS/Environmental Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, occasionally operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. The employee will use protective equipment when working with chemicals, move between workstations, reach, and replace equipment, and move items weighing up to 25 lbs.
