Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Mission Assurance Engineer - 2/3. This position will be located in Vandenberg, CA and will support the Sentinel program.  

 This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You’ll Get To Do:  

Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Program Mission Assurance Engineer to provide support to our Vandeberg Space Force Base (VSFB), CA Sentinel Team.

  • Qualified candidate will support MA functions to ensure mission success.

  • Work with Construction Quality Managers (QCM) during construction activities to ensure government, code, and contractual requirements are met.

  • Conduct technical reviews of submittals, Sentinel drawings, SOW’s, SDRLs, CDRLs, board packages, Requirements documents and other documents as required.

  • Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of SENTINEL achievements.

  • Assesses SENTINEL performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.

  • Assist the Program Quality Managers (PQM) with all SENTINEL Mission Assurance /Program Management requirements.

  • Develop, implement and maintain the SENTINEL Program Quality Plans.

  • Assist PQM in preparation and execution on of Program Preventive and Corrective Action Board (PCAB).

  • Develop and maintain SENTINEL Program Metrics.

  • Support PQM with SENTINEL Customer Corrective Action Requests.

  • Support IPT MA & QE in Conditional Acceptance requirements and flow down(s).

  • Monitor timely closure of Conditionally Accepted hardware and work corrective actions with IPT MA & QEs.

  • Support Engineering Review Boards with technical approvals.

  • Acceptance of functional and integrated test events.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   

You’ll Bring These Qualifications: 

  • Mission Assurance Engineer (level 2): Bachelor's in Science degree and 2 years of related experience, OR a master's degree and 0 years of work experience. 4 years additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Principal Mission Assurance Engineer (level 3): Bachelor's in Science degree and 5 years of related experience, OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience. 4 years additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  •  Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

  •  Able to complete USACE CQM Certification with 3 months of being hired

  •  Experience in AS9100 Quality Management System

  •  Experience in USACE construction quality systems (UFGS DIV.1)

  • Experience in USAF Missile Field maintenance and/or operations

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: 

  • Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance

  •  Current USACE CQM Certification

  • 3+ years' Experience in AS9100 Quality Management System

  • 3+ years' Experience in USACE construction quality systems (UFGS DIV.1)

  • 3+ years' Experience in USAF Missile Field maintenance and/or operations

Salary Range: $87,200.00 - $130,800.00Salary Range 2: $107,300.00 - $160,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
