Position Overview (Summary/Objective):

ARKA is looking for a Network Engineer to join our team. In this important role, you will be designing and implementing network system and security components including firewalls, switches, routers and cryptographic devices for a variety of projects, programs and customers for which ARKA provides cutting-edge solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our customers to help solve their problems by designing and implementing network system components that support a variety of projects and programs including satellite ground systems, launch ranges, and test sets for satellite ground and missile defense systems
  • Work with ARKA Systems Engineers, Program Managers and Project Engineers to interpret requirements from customers and architect solutions to meet their needs
  • Perform installation, network connection and configuration tasks for network and cryptographic devices
  • Determine what standard security policies are required and implement those policies as necessary
  • Perform test and verification activities to ensure network equipment is functioning per requirements and perform troubleshooting and anomaly resolution as needed
  • Design, scope, and implement technical solutions that scale across ARKA business areas and products
  • Understand that as a representative of ARKA internally and externally, your decisions and actions will have far-reaching impact
  • Explore and integrate new technologies, transitioning operations from traditional administration and deployment to infrastructure as application leveraging automation/configuration management technologies.
  • Daily maintenance/administration of multiple production systems
  • Assists with Back‐ups and recovery
  • Configuration and maintenance of the monitoring system
  • Occasional work after hours or weekends at our co‐location facility
  • 10-15% travel to client sites

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field required
  • 7+ years of experience designing and implementing network solutions
  • Experience with Cisco network devices, NX-OS and Cisco IOS
  • Experience with Palo Alto
  • Experience working with customers to define solutions, including receiving, interpreting, and understanding user requirements
  • Experience managing and delivering a customer solution that meets a set of requirements
  • CCNA Routing and Switching
  • Passionate about fostering good engineering practices and processes
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with an eye for detail and thoroughness
  • Demonstrated technical ownership in a project-based work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cryptographic device procurement activities, provisioning, and deployment
  • COMPTIA Security +
  • CCNP Routing and Switching
  • Experience with telemetry and satellite communications

 

 

Pay Range:  $115-150K

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

This job operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to use hands to keyboard, communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. This would require the ability to move around the campus and occasionally move/lift items weighing up to XX lbs. (site specific:  Danbury = 25; Bothell = 40; other sites per job requirements - should be no more than 40). Due to contract requirements, US citizenship is required.
