SUMMARY: We are looking for individuals who are passionate about learning, open to mentoring, coaching, customer service, and developing problem solving skills. The role requires organization, time management, and communication skills. The 2024 Summer internship program will be onsite at Axiom Space in Houston, Texas from June 3, 2024, to August 23, 2024.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist the expeditors with the supplier registration process by establishing payment terms and obtaining all required documentation.
  • Assist the expeditors with acquiring the required data for a purchase and inputting the purchase requirements into the ERP system.
  • Assist the expeditors with tracking and updating all upcoming orders as well as looking for ways to decrease shipping times.
  • Assist the buyers with creating purchase orders and communicating purchase requirements to suppliers.
  • Assist the buyers with the p-card purchases and ensuring orders are placed in a timely manner
  • Assist the shipping and receiving team by preparing and maintaining records and correspondence associated with the conducting of inventories and accountability on government or customer owned equipment, in accordance with company directives, procedures management, and direction
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Rising Junior or Senior or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics
    • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher

Essential Functions

  • Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task


Requirements 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position


Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
