We are looking for an IVV Digital Equipment Engineer, in this role you will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Support to project VCD writing and corresponding allocation of “test requirements” to “Test Cases”, in co-engineering and supervised by equipment Project Leader (PL) and System Engineer (SE).   
  • Definition of the Test Plan / Test Specification per digital computer equipment (On Board Computer, Data Handling, Science & Special) for KOM/SRR/PDR/TRR, on the basis of IVV standard input and to support equipment PL & SE.
  • Definition and writing of the Test Procedures for EBB/EQM/PFM/FM equipment models for corresponding review TRR, on the basis of IVV standard input and PL & SE supervision.
  • Definition and writing of the FPGA Validation Test Plans & Procedures for EBB/EQM, on the basis of IVV standard input and PL, SE, HWE supervision.
  • Support and execution of HW/HW, HW/FW e HW/FW/SW integration of digital equipment.
  • Execution of qualification/acceptance tests (in particular: functional, performance and electrical tests) of several HW models, basing on Test Procedures, including support ones to the Mechanical Load tests (before, during, after solicitation), the Thermal-Vacuum tests (before, during, after cycling), EMC/ESD tests (during CE/CS & RE/RS & ESD).
  • Production of the Test Report and attendance to the equipment TRB/DRB, with final compilation of VCD for any HW model.
  • All activities are mainly executed in TAS-I Milan site, environmental tests may be executed in TAS-I L’Aquila site.

Pre-requirements:

  • Knowledge of TE/EGSE “ECHO” of CCHE-I and of integration/qualification/acceptance methodologies per flight digital equipment, knowledge of “VeriEASY” tools.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (C, TESLA, JS, etc).
  • Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscope, multimeter, vector signal analyzer,…)
  • Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics.
  • Basic knowledge of FPGA (RTAX2000, VIRTEX-5, SmartFusion, RTG4…) and their validation.
  • Basic knowledge of on-board SW validation and main uP (ERC-32, GR740, …) used in the space field.
  • Basic knowledge of space communication protocols (1553B, SpW, CAN, RS422, WizardLink, CCSDS AOS TM, ECSS TM, PUS TC/TM, TMTC, …)
  • Knowledge of English language
  • Good usage of Microsoft Office package
  • Good attitude to team working
