Located in Durango, CO, (Headquarters) and Mount Pleasant, PA (Additive Manufacturing Center) Agile Space Industries, Inc. (AGILE) designs, builds, and tests in-space propulsion systems for satellites and spacecraft. AGILE uses state of the art 3D metal alloy printing techniques to rapidly design, manufacture, and test new engine designs in our purpose-built propulsion test facility. With over a decade of experience testing rocket engines, and engineers who have worked at industry leaders like Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, and Rocketdyne, AGILE is a rapidly growing company with many exciting Defense, Civil and Commercial programs.

AGILE is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who is responsible for performing on highly complex functions in the design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of manufacturing operations in various product lifecycle stages; plan, conduct, and review project progress and evaluate results including on time and on budget; ability to manage a technical group independently.

Responsibilities:

    • Lead and oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for aerospace components, ensuring adherence to strict quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineering, operations, and quality assurance to translate design specifications into manufacturable products.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, process capability assessments, and risk analyses to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
    • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including process instructions, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
    • Utilize statistical analysis and data-driven methodologies to monitor and analyze manufacturing performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for manufacturing-related issues, driving sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in aerospace manufacturing, and apply this knowledge to enhance our manufacturing capabilities.
    • Support new product introductions and product transfers by providing expertise in manufacturing process development, validation, and scale-up.
    • Champion initiatives related to automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies to improve productivity, flexibility, and efficiency in manufacturing operations.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with a proven track record of leading manufacturing process development and improvement initiatives.
    • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO9001).
    • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.

Relocation: Negotiable

Salary range: $92,000 - $136,000
