The Human Resources Department is seeking a HR Coordinator to provide support to the department while also performing general administrative tasks. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The HR Coordinator ensures the smooth operation of HR processes and procedures and fulfills administrative needs. This position can support hybrid work. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to our local market. (MD, DE, VA, PA, DC & WV).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as intermediary for Human Resources and interfaces with other STScI divisions to exchange information, arrange meetings, and coordinate various activities, including invoice payment and recruiting support.
- Prepares procurement packages, including Pos, blanket orders, and requests for new purchases/subscriptions.
- Coordinates with HR staff to collect and resolve invoices and other accounting needs. Ensures check requests are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinates Employee Service Awards with internal and external stakeholders.
- Processes ad hoc requests and purchases, such as bereavement floral deliveries.
- Interacts with Recruiting to provide support with job posting, meeting schedules, and other recruitment support.
- Assists with mail distribution and shipment.
- Provides support to other HR functionalities as needed.
Education / Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. Previous experience in an administrative and or HR support role is not required, but preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy of data preparation and dissemination.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners (internal and external).
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
The salary range for this position is between $43-45,000. Substitution of additional relevant education and/or experience for stated qualifications may be considered. Compensation is commensurate with education, skills and experience. Our excellent benefits include:
