The Role:

In this role, you will work closely with the Planners and product development teams to source, negotiate and procure, materials and services to meet the company’s operational requirements in line with company objectives. Taking in to account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing goods, materials, components or services in-line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply issues, which may pose a risk or impact on business delivery targets or customer expectations.
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
  • Support creative and innovative procurement processes
  • Support ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value and aid business performance
  • Effectively interact cross-functionally primarily with Planning, Quality, Engineering, Production, Finance, Materials and other Departments as required.
  • Competency using ERP and PLM software packages
  • Understanding of ERP/MRP and production planning principles
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials.
  • Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements.
  • Support in research on and evaluate existing and new suppliers
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
  • Purchase Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS), Non-Inventory, Office Stationary Supplies, Facilities & Maintenance Services , 3D printer supplies and calibration equipment
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Effectively manage multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • Initiative to investigate problems, develop solutions and obtain results

Education and Experiences:

  • University Degree or diploma in Business, Operations or Material Management is an asset
  • APICS CSCP designation is considered an asset.
  • APICS CPIM designation or PMAC SCMP designation is considered an asset.
  • 0-2 years’ experience within Supply Chain Management is an asset

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
