Job description
What You’ll Do:
As a Director overseeing and managing our line of business efforts, you will manage a program or portfolio of programs focused on delivering large-scale, strategic capabilities for government customers. You will be responsible for customer success and meeting program milestones as well as ensuring revenue retention and growth targets for both your department and the company as a whole. You will work directly with the Vice President, Operations, as well as Growth, Capture, Engineering, Technical, Science, and Product teams to plan and manage all aspects of assigned program(s), such as program scope, deliverables, impact on the business, resources, profit and loss statements, product strategy and roadmap, and overall reporting.
Position Responsibilities (General):
- Execute all position responsibilities in alignment with Slingshot’s core values, mission, and purpose
- Create and manage short-term and long-term project and program goals
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements throughout all program phases
- Execute programs cross-functionally to ensure customer success, promote a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverables
- Prepare ad hoc and periodic presentations and reports and present them to stakeholders
- Conduct analyses and situational reporting to ensure that contracts are being executed within negotiated scope while ensuring successful business outcomes for both Slingshot and our stakeholders
- Manage complex relationships and associated contracts with client(s), Primes, and Subcontractors to successfully deliver on our commitments to maintain trust within the industry
- Communicate customer feedback and needs to stakeholders
- Utilize your professional judgment, critical thinking skills and research to improve the efficiency and efficacy of program processes and resolve issues affecting program performance
- Develop and implement strategies for operational excellence across the line of business
- Monitor program performance using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
- Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of operational campaign strategies
- Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key corporate and program-level initiatives for relevant stakeholders
- Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring for programs and initiatives
- Create strategies to improve processes and workflows
- Ensure high levels of quality control are established and maintained
- Establish and maintain procedures for remediating issues impacting the quality of customer deliverables
- Project Cost forecast and execution – monthly cadence
- Work with respective CFO office personnel to get the cost of goods forecast for the month
- Assist with revenue and gross margin forecasting and targets
- Review and formulate mitigation plan if failure to meet Revenue/GM target
- Provide support to Growth lead for assigned opportunities to enable organic growth.
- Maintain strong working relationships with Growth, Tech, Science, and Finance organizations to ensure flow of information and alignment on initiatives and program deliverable needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above)
Position Responsibilities (Customer Support / Research)
- Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs and expectations are being met and they are successful in the use of Slingshot Aerospace’s products and services
- Manage both new and existing customer relationships
- Manage overall customer satisfaction and feedback, and communicate effectively with the appropriate stakeholders
- Ensure customers are properly supported and assist in maintaining necessary SLAs and escalation policies
- Assist the Product Team with gathering customer feedback and insights to improve product development and strategy
- Create and deliver regular reports to monitor performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations to enhance growth and customer success strategies
Pre-Requisites
- This position requires an active TS/SCI United States government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen and able to maintain your security clearance as well as be eligible to obtain additional clearances
Minimum Requirements
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- 10+ years experience in Program/Account Management or similar role
- 3+ years experience assisting Business Development / Sales teams with proposal development and capture activities; time-phasing of tasks; cost modeling, developing and documenting account execution strategies; and establishing key performance metrics that maximize the probability of winning new contracts
- 10+ years experience executing and delivering on contracts within Federal and Commercial customers
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience working with either the United States Department of Defense, United States Space Force, and/or United States Air Force, or Intelligence Community (IC).
- Ability to travel within the continental United States approximately 25% of the time
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels of commercial and government organizations
- Demonstrated expertise employing program management techniques to achieve program success, as measured by cost, schedule, and performance metrics
- Proven success working with software developers and multi-disciplinary teams
Preferred Skills (not required)
- Masters degree in a business or technical field
- PMP Certification
- Experience in executing contracts with Space Systems Command

Classification: Full time Exempt (outside sales exemption)
Salary Range: On target earnings: $175,000-$225,000
