Job Description

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Staff Agile Coach to join our team in Linthicum/Baltimore, MD.  This position will support Maritime/Land Systems and Sensors programs with most of the work being onsite.

The Staff Agile Coach will support the MLSS Agile Lead in helping programs meet or exceed contractual requirements.  The Agile Coach will work closely with engineering teams, other functional supporting team, and leaders in an extremely fast-paced environment.  The Coach will assist with lightweight agile planning, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement focused on achieving program objectives and milestones, while improving operations and increasing efficiency.  The Coach will develop agile expertise within the respective organization and provide workshops as needed to improve execution.  The Coach will collaborate with other coaches and provide mentoring to less experienced Agile Coaches.

Typical Minimum Education or Experience:

  • 14 years of experience with Bachelors in Science degree, or 12 years of experience with Masters degree, or 9 years of experience with PhD.

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S Citizenship is required
  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Minimum of 5 years working as Scrum Master, Chief Scrum Master, or Agile Coach
  • Experience across multiple Agile frameworks, such as Scrum, Scrum @ Scale, Kanban, Extreme Programming, LeSS, or SAFe
  • Thorough knowledge of agile principles, practices, and methods, particularly Scrum
  • Experience mentoring individuals on Agile practices
  • Practical experience of servant leadership within agile teams
  • In depth experience with Atlassian tool suite, specifically Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent organizational and facilitation skills
  • Desire to drive change, implement new ways of working and thinking "out of the box"
  • Self-starting mentality and willingness to take ownership of difficult challenges
  • Ability to engage and influence effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree with at least 3+ years of professional experience in related industry

  • 5 years Northrop Grumman or defense industry experience

  • U.S Citizenship is required
  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Experience with Scrum @ Scale
  • Hold recognized Agile certifications, such as a Registered Scrum Master, Registered Scrum Master@Scale, Professional Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Master, or SAFe Scrum Master

Salary Range: $157,500.00 - $236,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
