Position Overview:
AMERGINT is seeking a Senior FPGA/Firmware Engineer who is passionate about working closely with customers to solve difficult mission-critical challenges. In this important role, you will be working on the hardware FPGA/Firmware designs around the AMERGINT hardware portfolio. We empower our people, and we give them the space to thrive. Responsibilities:
- Design, scope, and implement technical solutions that scale across AMERGINT products and customer set
- Communicate and collaborate across the engineering team and product owners
- Evaluate and recommend solutions and work with the senior team members on designs
- Help to define and prioritize tasks that you are assign to work on.
- Provide review and feedback during FPGA/Firmware designs reviews
- Continuously improve, adapt, and grow
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of work related experience
- Familiar with using VHDL and/or Verilog to develop complex sub-modules in an FPGA.
- Familiar with using VHDL and/or Verilog to develop test benches for simulation at a module level.
- Compile, route, analyze, and test FPGA and microprocessor designs in hardware.
- Knowledge with how to configure FPGA internal logic analyzer.
- Basic knowledge with standard coding practices to develop routines for embedded processors.
- Learn how to Integrate DSP solutions handed down from DSP Engineers.
- Work directly with software engineers to integrate designs.
- Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.
- Programming languages: C/C++, Python, VHDL, Verilog.
- Ability to learn how to create FPGA/Firmware functional block diagrams for design review prior code development.
- Has strong analytical skills.
- Work closely with other team members and contribute to design review presentations.
- Passionate about fostering good engineering practices and processes.
- Willingness to learn new technology and approaches.
- Understanding of testing principles.
- Demonstrated design skills for large scale, high speed and highly available distributed systems
- Excellent communication and analytical skills with an eye for detail and thoroughness
- May require the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Create detailed block diagrams, circuit schematics with limited assistance and make component selections.
- Ability to learn how to translate customer specifications into hardware designs
- Component knowledge and experience
- Familiar with telemetry and satellite communications
Security Clearance Requirements: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance. Due to contract requirements, US citizenship is required. Additionally, if you are a dual citizen, the Company must obtain approval for you to have access to the information required for this position. You will not be able to begin employment until such approval is obtained and this may take several months.
Pay Range: Salary range $154,000 - $180,0000. Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Environmental Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate, listen to, and interpret instructions, occasionally operate tools and/or machinery with hands and arms and remain stationary for extended periods of the time. The employee will use protective equipment when working with chemicals, move between workstations, reach, and replace equipment, and move items weighing up to 25 lbs.
