Position Overview:

A Reliability Engineer provides expertise in High Reliability, Military and Space Level Reliability Engineering.

This position is responsible for planning, defining, and implementing Reliability Engineering Requirements to ensure design integrity and hardware robustness in direct alignment with customer expectations.

Execution of appropriate Analysis, Processes and Procedures required to follow EEE (Electrical, Electronic, Electro-Mechanical) components and Mechanical Assemblies/Structures through selection, specification generation, procurement team interaction, and item qualification. 

The Individual will work as a Member of several Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to implement Component/Reliability Requirements which may include Component Selection, Screening and Qualification Definition, Reliability Studies, Stress Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Safety and Hazard Analysis, Component Database management and Supply Chain Guidance.

 

Responsibilities: 

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Perform Reliability Engineering reviews of Design documentation for compliance with stated requirements
  • Prepare Reliability Prediction, Reliability Control Program, FMEA, Safety and Hazard Analysis Documentation for presentation to customer subject matter experts.
  • Create Presentations and Participate in Customer Meetings as Topic Area/Customer Focal
  • Oversight and Operation of Reliability Analysis Tools like the PTC Windchill Quality Solutions (RELEX) Software Suite
  • Review and approve Drawings/Documents detailing Parts and Materials procurement and application
  • Review and approve subcontractor procedures

 

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent

 

Experience Required: 

Work Experience as a Reliability Engineer in High Reliability, Military and Space Flight Environments.

  • Statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the acceptability of mechanical and electrical components

 

Skills:

  • Knowledge of EEEE device types, construction, operation and failure analysis
  • Experience working in U.S. Government defense industry or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience using EEEE parts control plans and part specifications/data sheets
  • Knowledge of Government, Industry specs and standards (MIL-STD-1547, MIL-HDBK-217)
  • Project leadership, presentation and decision-making skills
