As a Product Manager – Technical (Production Planning and PMMO), you will be using your skills and expertise to manage cross-functional teams through program execution for our Finance, Controlling and Treasury systems and business processes.  This position requires a proactive, highly motivated individual with an aptitude for critical thinking, process improvement, and demonstrable history of building and managing critical applications.  In this role, you will set the vision, tenets, strategy, and roadmap for your space.  This will include interacting with business and technical resources to identify enhancements, prioritize work streams, and manage changes in applications. 

Sierra Space-based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL—designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations. Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Leading the team through the design, development, test, and production of SW tools/applications including application integrations between software tools 

  • Implementing best practices for developing maintainable production ready software products 

  • Performing application configuration changes to realize the software/process vision you and the team have created. 

  • Generating and managing product roadmaps/project plans that define and communicate and deliver on the future projected system/business capabilities. 

  • Coordinating and collaborating across multi-discipline/multi-organizational teams to understand key aspects of various subsystems, safety/audit requirements, and operational requirements. 

  • Managing daily operations required to support Sierra Space stakeholder and customer needs (change control, support tickets, user training, etc.) 

  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive software documentation including, but not limited to: Software Requirements, Software User Guides, and Software Test Plans 

 

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline, or equivalent work experience and typically six (6) years of relevant technical experience; higher education may substitute for relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
  • Experience designing and developing maintainable production applications. 
  • Experience in SAP Production Planning, with a deep understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Capacity Planning, and Production Scheduling
  • Agile development methods and scrum experience 

 

Preferred: 

  • Understanding of FICO integration points to other modules such as MM, PS, CO, FI, PP, Dassian PACE 
  • Experience with setups/configuration/execution of PMMO (Grouping, Pegging and Distribution), including Planned Independent Requirements, Breakpoints and MM (Automatic Accounting Determination) 
  • Experience with Dassian, SQL, XML, JSON, and Postman, CI/CD
  • Experience with identifying and coordinating resources to ensure the required tools, processes, and training are available/effective and programs are staffed and supported to achieve success.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military, EVM and Cost-Plus Contracts 
  • Proficiency with Jira, Backlog Grooming, Leading Stand-ups 
  • Prior exposure to working successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment emphasizing rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to motivate/work with others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Estimated Starting Salary Range: 

$138,634.92 - $207,952.37

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
