Position Purpose: The Spacecraft Products Manager provides Personnel, Programmatic and Technical leadership and supervision of the BCT Spacecraft Products group, including standardized spacecraft maintenance and road mapping, Propulsion, and Avionics products.  This will be a dual role with the successful candidate also filling spacecraft level Program management duties.

Pay Range: $125,000 - $235,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the interdisciplinary establishment, monitoring and maintenance of standardized Spacecraft products roadmaps
  • Responsible for performance against cost/schedule plan of Spacecraft products production and delivery to programs
  • Support and help evolve the spacecraft and component product line offerings
  • Functional manager for members of the Spacecraft Products group (timesheet review and approval, career development)
  • Mentor and provide technical support to Spacecraft Products team members
  • Maintain Spacecraft Products workforce (track staffing needs, supporting hiring/talent acquisition)
  • Execute flight programs that meet technical and cost obligations
  • Develop, review and negotiate procurement documents (specification, SOW) and manage subcontracts
  • Work closely with customers to help refine their needs and provide innovative and competitive solutions
  • Generate and maintain program integrated master schedule (IMS)
  • Generate and maintain program budgets and forecasts, including financial, technical, and schedule risk and opportunity positions
  • Ensure all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives

Required Qualifications/Education:

  •  At least 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management with Engineering background, or Computer Science discipline
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate emerging technologies against business case needs
  • Ability to perform trade studies and parametric analyses
  • Program management experience with NASA, NOAA, DoD, and/or IC customers and both FFP and CP contracts
  • Results-oriented temperament, with leadership style that empowers and energizes team members
  • Must be willing and able to provide constructive criticism to their direct reports, and have difficult conversations as needed to promote optimal health of the team
  • Strong systems engineering and technical management skills and demonstrated ability to grow new business opportunities and execute demanding flight programs
  • Ability to work rapidly with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams
  • Previous experience and skills in project definition, simulation, implementation, lab integration and test
  • Must be able to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with emphasis in rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education


Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.  BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
