Duties

As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Security) at the GS-2210-15 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to the following:

Serves as Chief Technology Officer and principal advisor for the OIG on all IT related matters.
Develops plans to provide all OIG components with IT systems and support that include identifying methods and means, alternative approaches, security programs, and acquisition options.
Manages OIG databases to include both Office Of Investigations and Office of Audits and the OIG Dashboard and action tracking system.
Develops systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures.
Formulates policies and management guidelines for complex and changing IT systems.
Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
Ensures the OIG complies with all applicable IT laws and regulations.
Conducts analysis and makes enterprise architecture recommendations with emphasis on data migration in a cloud environment.

Position subject to pre-employment background investigation.
Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance.
A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation. This position will be subject to random drug testing after the applicant is hired.
If selected, you will be required to complete a financial disclosure statement.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level

Integrating long-range agency-wide policies, procedures, strategies and management guidelines for complex and changing information technology systems software;
Identifying cybersecurity gaps in technical capabilities and developing or recommending analytical approaches or solutions to problems and situations;
Advising Leadership on cyberspace operations and/or policy functions;
Supervising the execution of cyberspace policies, missions, or operations functions; AND
Implementing complex and innovative cybersecurity solutions across organizational boundaries in a risk-based manner that minimizes operational impact.

AND

IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
