The data handling subsystem is the spacecraft subsystem in charge to receive the commands as decoded by the Radio Frequency system, to run the On board SW, to interface all the electronic unit on board including payload and Mass memory.

We are looking for a Senior Data Handling Subsystem Designer who will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Contribution in the design and specification of Data Handling subsystem and of the needed units(OBC, RTU, Mass Memory)
  • Contribution in the design and specification ofelectrical and communication interfacesamong the DH units and with the system avionics
  • Support the design and specification of communication protocols used by the DH subsystem buses (MIL1553, CAN, SpaceWire, TTEthernet, , RS232, RS442, RS485, SPI, I2C etc..)
  • Procurement ofDH subsystem and of the relevant units following the subcontractor activities
  • Support to DH subsystem integration and test (AIT) with system avionics
  • Definition and specification of DH Test Benchesused for the validation of the subsystem byProcessor In the Loop(PIL), Hardware In the Loop (HIL) and Closed Loop tests

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

- Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering possibly with focus on Embedded Systems or on Computer Science  It is required job experience in DHS  design or testing at  subsystem or at unit level.

- At least 4 years of technical knowledge in the following areas:

  • multicore space qualified microprocessors (LEON, PPC, etc.) and relevant development environment (GRMON, UBOOT, ECLIPSE)
  • knowledge ofspace qualified components used in theDH units (Memories, FPGA, ADC, DAC, etc..)
  • Knowledge of structured programming languages (C, C++) but also in Assembler
  • Knowledge of Real Time Operating systems(RTEMS, VXWORKS) is appreciated
  • Knowledge ofmodeling tools (Matlab/Simulink, PSPICE) is considered as preferential skill
  • Knowledge ofVHDL andFPGA synthesis tools isconsidered as preferential skill
  • Good knowledge ofEnglish is needed
  • Availability to work abroad for short periods of time
  • Good ability to work with people with different cultures
  • Team working
