We’re on the hunt for a Junior Member of Technical Staff - Systems with our Geointelligence Engineering Team at our Richmond office.

The Role:

MDA’s Geointelligence business delivers large software centric systems that enable our customers to meet the challenges of effective operations in an ever changing world. Working in multidisciplinary teams with synthetic aperture radar processing, embedded systems, as well as with radio astronomy, custom and COTS systems integration and more, in a highly regulated environment.

The Jr Member of Technical Staff -  Hardware Systems is a core member of the project team and supports a variety of critical activities related to Hardware and Systems Engineering.

You will leverage your hardware and systems engineering background over the entire life cycle of our systems. You understand the systems engineering discipline and what it means to successfully apply this to large, complex systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the System Engineering team to establish concept of operations, system specifications, system interfaces
  • Support specialty engineering design disciplines to creatively address our customer’s requirements
  • Support “proof of concept”, feasibility or trade-off studies; selecting suppliers and hardware procurement
  • Maintain project workstations, servers, and specialized compute processors (FPGAs).
  • HW activities will include servers & workstation setup, cabling interconnections and specialized HW equipment setup.
  • Perform IT Systems Administration (Windows, Linux)
  • Generation of system engineering document deliverables (ICDs, Requirements Specifications, Design documents)
  • Support system test and acceptance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar relevant degree or combination of education and experience
  • Willingness to learn and to be trained on the job

Desirable:

  • Experience working on complex projects, supporting project teams is an asset.

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold CGP  and Reliability security clearance.

The compensation range for this position is $54,000 - $80,000 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
