Sources, negotiates, and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for the operation of an organization. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Monitors the performance of suppliers. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Evaluate areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions. Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near a major Lockheed Martin Space facility, either:
• Denver, CO,
• Rocket City USA : Huntsville, AL, or in
• Sunnyvale, CA
and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from accredited.
• 1+ year of professional experience in Supply Chain Management (i.e… Procurement, Subcontract Administration, Subcontract Management, Negotiation, and/or Category Management)
Desired Skills:
To be successful, ideally, you should also have:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3 years of professional experience; or 1 year of professional experience with a related Masters's degree.
