Engineering Drafter

Engineering Drafter 

Orbion is seeking a well-rounded CAD drafter to support projects dedicated toward R&D, testing, and mass production of spacecraft electric propulsion systems. Previous experience with aerospace design activities is desired and the ideal candidate is self-motivated and driven by a fast-paced, exciting, and collaborative work environment. 

Responsibilities:  

• Create, modify, and review 3D CAD models  
• Create, modify, and review engineering drawings 
• Collaborate with engineers to drive requirements and adhere to industry standards for models and drawings 
• Support the engineering change process, update existing and create new change order documentation 
• Create and interpret drawing redline markups 
• Perform other duties as assigned 

Minimum Requirements:  

• Must meet definition of United States Person
• Two-year degree in Computer Aided Design or other technical discipline or an equivalent combination of courses, training and experience 
• 5-10 years’ experience in a design environment (preferably in the aerospace arena)  
• A solid understanding of applicable ASME drawing standards, CAD software, and Product Data Management (PDM) tools  
• Ability to collaborate in a team setting as well as be an active individual contributor   
• Great communication skills, technical depth, breadth, and passion will enable you to work effectively with cross functional (electrical, mechanical, system, test, manufacturing) product development teams 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with production drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)  
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD and SolidWorks PDM 
• Detail oriented, meticulous
