Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Digital Innovation Cognitive Software Engineer/Principal Digital Innovation Cognitive Software Engineer. This position will be Telecommuter and will support the SDS Division.

The successful applicant will:

• Design, develop, document, test and debug software applications and systems for web and desktop environments.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Communicate advanced concepts and information in an understandable manner for audiences of varying levels of technical experience.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technology trends.
• Properly document code, artifact description, implementation, and use case.
• Be an eager and fast learner.
• Work on a fast pasted collaborative team in an agile environment.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications: 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Software Engineer: 2 Years with Bachelor’s; 0 Years with Masters; or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• Principal Software Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelor’s; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
• Experience with Python and/or Node scripting.
• Exposure to Javascript & React, Vue or Angular.
• Exposure to Ontology Engineering, including tools like Neo4j, RDF, OWL, Protégé.
• Familiarity with SQL databases, NoSQL.
• An engineering mindset with an eagerness to explore and break new ground.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
• Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Exposure to logic programming languages like Prolog, Lisp
• Experience with Rust, Go, Julia, C++, C#, Java, or other.

Salary Range: $95,900.00 - $177,000.00Salary Range 2: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
