Maxar is seeking a Geospatial Scientist / Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA).

You will perform geographic information systems (GIS) analyses on natural resources data, leveraging your knowledge and understanding of global positioning systems (GPS).

Most valuable is your ability to create user applications and interfaces using the most complex programming languages, and analyzing image data using advanced technical image processing software.

As a seasoned, experienced professional, with deep knowledge of your area of specialization, you will resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways. This critical role works on problems of diverse scope, and offers engaging opportunities to directly impact high-level decision making.

Responsibilities:

• Provide integrated geospatially based spatial and temporal analysis to discover and characterize relationships, trends, and infer conclusions to enable pattern analysis.

• Maintain spatial data layers to support data integration. 

• Assist in the integration of data mining, visualization, nodal analysis, and temporal tools with the ArcGIS tools and the integration of NGA products. 

• Design, create, and execute advanced computational and statistical modeling applications for geospatial analysis, display and pattern recognition. 

• Refine and export complex algorithmic data results into user-friendly analytical products for simplified geospatial understanding. 

Required Qualifications:

• Current/active TS/SCI security clearance.

• 5 years of experience with GIS.

• 5 years of experience with developing, manipulating, and maintaining relational databases.

• 1 year of experience using COTS/GOTS geospatial tools such as QGIS.

• 5 years of experience utilizing Python and other programming languages to automate geospatial processing tasks.

• 3 years of experience creating 3-dimensional geospatial visualizations on analytic products.

• Experience creating info graphics for visualization of geospatial data.

• Certified on ESRI ArcGIS Suite of Software.

• Advanced certification on SA, Operational Risk Assessment, Analyst Notebook.

• Advanced Certification on Digital Globe Signature Analyst (geospatial predictive analysis tool).

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Multi-year experience as an Operations Research Systems Analyst

• MS degree or PhD in GIS or related field.

• Experience with statistical development in R.

• Strong understanding of mathematics and statistical modeling.

• Working knowledge of ESRI’s Arc Portal.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$75,000.00 - $126,000.00 annually.
