a.i. solutions is looking for a highly-motivated Mission Assurance Lead with a passion for aerospace. This person will work in a team environment as the primary customer point of contact for all spacecraft operations mission assurance activities in support of U.S. Space Force Space Systems Commandโ€™s Innovation and Prototyping Directorate at Kirtland AFB, NM. This individual will serve as a key leader on the program and will execute and guide a Mission Assurance and Quality Surveillance program to ensure all customer mission assurance requirements are met. The successful candidate should possess significant knowledge of space operations, process control, inspections, quality assurance, training, and satellite command and control. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission of always meeting customer requirements and usually exceeding their expectations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead Mission Assurance and Quality reviews both internally and with government customer, with an emphasis on implementation and compliance to the Mission Assurance and Quality Assurance Plans.
  • Execute the program Risk Management Plan as related to satellite operations.
  • Support system readiness, planning, preparation, execution and ops crew evaluation for satellite launch and early orbit operations, on-orbit operations and end-of-life retirement/disposal.
  • Assess anomaly resolution processes and effectiveness of resolution actions, providing recommendations and advice to the program leadership regarding satellite faults, ground system failures, or operator errors.
  • Provide in-depth trend analysis and independent risk assessments of operational systems, mission issues and risks, workarounds, and collect/disseminate lessons learned.
  • Define and review for compliance mission assurance analyses and tasks performed by program space mission lead personnel.
  • Perform personnel management actions as required, including timekeeping administration, performance reviews, assisting in hiring personnel, and assisting team with professional development.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for technical or business process improvement.
  • Participate in corporate initiatives and business development, opportunity capture, and/or proposal generation efforts.
  • Support flexible hours including potential night and weekend work on an on-call basis.
  • Travel on occasion as required estimated to be 10%.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, management or related discipline.
  • 10 years of directly related experience in space Quality or Engineering.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems, IS09001/AS9100.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship.

Desired Background:

  • 15+ years of experience in space Quality or Engineering.
  • Proven leadership experience in a technical field.
  • Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values or opinions of others.
  • Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact.
