This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was crafted from the beginning to be human-capable.

This role is part of Enterprise Program Management (EPM) where we provide technical standards, tools, processes, training and subject matter expertise for product engineering and manufacturing. EPM allows all Blue Origin business units to benefit from commonly used capabilities, hardware, and software and assists business units in identifying, selecting, and training engineers from both inside and outside the organization.

 

 

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists and accomplished authorities in Program Planning & Controls (PP&C), develop and maintain program plans for various spaceflight systems. Partnered with Blue’s Program Managers and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), there are multiple facets to support our spaceflight systems. We are seeking a proactive, service-oriented individual with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills that can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of Program Schedules with the Integrated Master Schedule. Partnering with technical leadership across Blue, you will support the resource loading of our schedules and analyze resource requirement needed to achieve milestones. This position will also support change management initiatives and incorporate approved baseline changes into the schedule. As part of our monthly operating system you will lead reviews to capture status updates from varying partners and data sources, maintain schedule health and proactively analyze logic for accuracy and conduct ‘what-if’ scenario planning for schedule optimization opportunities. You will coordinate all this data to provide program leadership insight to status, schedule risk, and the associated recommended risk mitigations. You will also partner closely with the Program Cost Analysts to maintain integrated cost and schedule plans that will facilitate program budgeting and cost analysis.
  • A continuous focus on process improvement will be a requirement to collaborate with PP&C counterparts across the business units to develop new or improved methods of building, analyzing, and reporting our schedules and schedule performance.
  • Reporting to the PP&C leader of one of our four business units, this role will be integral in leading and supporting the development of robust programs plans. Work to increase the speed and efficiency of the programs by supporting the timely delivery, quality and visibility of program performance data and schedules to support the company’s business decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5 years experience in integrated program planning; education requirement may be replaced with an additional 5 years experience in integrated program planning
  • Experience with integrated master schedules with resource loading using Primavera (P6), Open Plan, MS Project, or other software
  • Experience and comfort with working in ambiguous environments and situations
  • Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong digital literacy (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills in technical work environments
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

 

 

Desired:

  • Experience in integrated program planning for the full lifecycle of a program, proposal through execution
  • Experience in aerospace research and development and manufacturing environments
  • Experience with Earned Value Management
  • Expert user of Primavera P6
  • Experience with cost/schedule integration and analysis tools
  • Proposal support including translation of BOEs into IMS’s upon award
  • MBA, or Project Management certification (PMP/Certified Project Manager)
  • Additional computer familiarity (SQL, Jira/ITS, Redash, Tableau, Windchill, MRP)

Paid Time Off:  Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays for all regular employees (including part-time), fixed-term, and interns.
