Key Responsibilities

- Lead a small team of Mission Analysis & Flight Dynamics engineers to define and navigate on-going and future lunar missions.

- Interface Launch Provider to refine trajectory and support trade-offs.

- Lead development of in-house tools and processes to support Mission Analysis & Navigation tasks.

- Lead development of Flight Dynamics Software, processes, procedures and training plans to navigate ispace's lunar missions.

- Ownership of ICDs between Flight Dynamics and other elements of the Ground Segment.

- Ownership of delta-v budget throughout different project phases (SDR, PDR, CDR, flight).

- Contribute to the CONOPS from a trajectory and Flight Dynamics Operations perspective (i.e. eclipses, Ground Station availability, maneuvers, etc.)

- Manage resource allocation, schedule, subcontractor support and budget for the team in coordination with management

- Support routine & contingency operations for ispace's lunar missions on a 24x7 environment.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years leading small to mid-size teams of engineers.
  • 5+ years experience on Flight Dynamics & Mission Analysis in commercial or governmental missions.
  • Knowledge of Flight Dynamics libraries and tools (GMAT, STK or similar tools).
  • Experience interfacing the launch provider (e.g. Space-X, ULA, Ariane).
  • Familiarity with Circular Restricted 3-Body Problem (CR3BP).
  • On-call & night work availability as demanded by mission phase.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operational experience designing and navigating Deep Space missions
  • Experience using MONTE for Mission Analysis and Flight Dynamics activities.
  • Experience with Python, Git, Docker, CI/CD.
  • Experience developing operational software and tools
  • Experience working with ranging and Doppler observables.
  • Experience using optimization software (i.e. SNOPT, IPOPT)
