Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our SDS Digital Transformation organization. This role is located in Roy, UT.
SDS Digital Transformation is seeking a Principal Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation to join Northrop Grumman. In this position, the new team member will be part of the SDS Digital Transformation Team supporting the Factories of the Future (FotF) Digital Transformation Office (DTO) portfolio. The position will require staying current on DTO Factories of the Future Solutions and aligning these solutions with SDS programs by holding bi-weekly integration meetings. In addition, this position will be responsible for operationalizing the Highly Immersive Virtual Environment (HIVE) that allows engineers to be present inside their designs to test maintenance and operations procedures in support of SDS programs.

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the tasks outlined below:
· Support Digital Transformation Office Factory of the Future initiatives by aligning solutions with SDS division programs by identifying and coordinating with SDS Stakeholders at bi-weekly meetings.
· Managing Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Factories of the Future solution roadmaps and deployments
· Manage utilization of onsite Highly Immersive Virtual Environment (HIVE) – this will include management of assets; leading assessments for process feasibility and risk analysis; report out return on investment and business value; engagement and coordination with engineering and human factors teams; and benchmarking industry best-practices for virtual reality.
· Working with digital technologies, like MBSE and virtual reality, teams of engineers to deliver with the speed and agility that their customers require.
· Supporting concurrent engineering, test producibility, testability, and maintainability as we design for operational requirements.
· Supporting human factors: checking access, reach, encumbrances, tool swing, sight lines, ergonomics, efficiency, safely, and more.
· Lead the project management and communication to ensure successful execution to project objectives; work with leadership to identify objectives.
· Maintain HIVE Communication and ConOps

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
5 Years with Bachelors in Science in a STEM related field of study; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years)
Experience using a CAD software such as NX, CATIA, Solidworks
Must have fluency in MS Office software applications
Project management experience
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience using Siemens NX
Software development experience in C# and Unity
Experience with Adobe Premier Pro
Experience using Virtual Reality Hardware and Software within simulation or gaming applications
Experience organizing and executing technology demonstrations that include Virtual Reality systems and applications
Experience in manufacturing simulation software such as Siemens Process Sim, Flex Sim, Siemens NX Line
