Your mission
The Automation Engineer will hold responsibility for implementing a completely autonomously flow operation in various departments to exceed expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximizing efficiency, optimizing production levels and driving operational excellence. Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, regarding technical support, striving for best-in-class products and business practices.
Building a rocket, we have the following key production processes: additive manufacturing, CNC turning and milling, assembly processes, carbon fiber composites, electronics manufacturing and welding. Some of the processes are fully automated. Our machine park includes only the most advanced and latest machinery and equipment.
More specifically, you will:
- Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency with automation (robots, cobots, vehicles)
- Designing, testing, and optimizing automated systems
- Developing tests and simulations to ensure the systems work as intended
- Creating a connection between information inputs, controllers and outputs
- Implement Human-machine interfaces in production
- Investigating defects or design flaws in the technology and refine competitive advantage
- Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
Who you are and what you have
- BSc/MSc in an engineering discipline
- Experience in automated production systems, and in implementing quality oriented production
- Programming skills for robots (e.g. Kuka) and interfaces (e.g. PLC)
- Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
- Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
- Lean production knowledge
- Highly organised and proactive with high attention to detail
- Can-do attitude
- Fluent in English and German
Nice-to-have
- Experience in quality assurance, automated ultrasonic testing, NDT testing
- Experience in Aerospace industry
