If you answered yes to the question, we invite you to seize the opportunity to make a significant impact as a MCS Subsystem Engineer. The main objective will be to provide technical support to ISS/Columbus operations and all the mission control system related activities.

What you´ll do

As an MCS Subsystem Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and operability of one of the core ground control subsystems for the Columbus module onboard the ISS. You will:
  • Maintain, configure, and update the software environment of the Mission Control System (MCS)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across MCS and its interfaced subsystems
  • Support ground-based operations including simulations, testing, and routine system checks
  • Serve as the primary technical interface to Airbus for software deliveries and advanced support (layers 3 and 4)
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable system performance

What we are looking for

  • A degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field
  • Proficiency in Linux, Bash scripting, and Python programming
  • Solid understanding of virtualization technologies and Oracle database administration
  • Knowledge of basic IP networking and troubleshooting techniques
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written

The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
  • Hands-on experience in mission operations environments
  • Familiarity with ESA or DLR operational frameworks
  • Knowledge about human space flight operations
