Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal or Sr Principal Mechanical Engineer.  This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

NOTE:  Remote/teleworker for the right candidate supporting our GBSD Payloads Team of Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector.

What You’ll Get To Do:

• Application of technical knowledge to evaluate design and perform technical review and analysis of mechanical designs, testing and validation of those designs. Application of technical expertise and has knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

• Determine tasking for yourself and others with minimum oversight

• Understand and apply system requirements

• Simulate and evaluate hardware performance

• Perform model validation through test and analysis

• Assist in all phases of the system lifecycle including requirements application, design, test, fabrication, and implementation

• Evaluate mechanical hardware performance

• Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements

• Create technical reports and present technical information

• Assistance in planning and scheduling activities

• Interface with Air Force Customer

• Interface with subcontractors

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Job Qualifications:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Principal Mechanical Engineer:   Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 5 years’ experience; 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; or 0 years’ experience with a PhD.

• Sr Principal Mechanical Engineer:   Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with 9 years’ experience; 7 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; or 4 years’ experience with a PhD.

• Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

• ICBM or Aerospace experience

• Experience using NX or similar for 3D modeling

• Experience with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Experience using Teamcenter

• Jira database administration experience

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

• USAF Weapon Systems

• Space vehicle design

• Design and analysis of mechanical properties

• CAD database synchronization

• Jira database administration

Salary Range: $84,200.00 - $133,000.00Salary Range 2: $101,600.00 - $160,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
