Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer in support of the Sentinel program. This opening may be in Roy, UT. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure. 

What you will get to do:

The selected candidate will join the DevStar Team within the System Engineering Directorate to lead the effort for defining the Weapon System Function capabilities for an IFC. The DevStar team is responsible for coordinating the development, planning and execution of IFCs. This role requires close coordination and collaboration with many Sentinel Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) responsible for Hardware/Software design, development, and integration to demonstrate the system capabilities for incremental delivery for a defined specific configuration.

Basic Qualifications:  

• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years and be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.                    
• Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8 years of experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of experience; or PhD with 4 years of experience
• Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of experience; or Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or PhD with 1 years of experience

Required for both levels:

• 1 year of experience with CAMEO or other MBSE tools
• 1 year of with Requirements management tools such as DOORs

Preferred Qualifications:  

• An active Special Access Program (SAP)
• Strong experience in Systems Engineering practices, methodologies, and products throughout the DoD acquisition lifecycle
• Strong experience with the following tools: CAMEO, DOORS, Confluence, and JIRA
• Experience with Sentinel program or other ICBMs
• General understanding of Northrop Grumman Corporation Engineering Processes
• Previous experience in developing and implementing strategies to drive employee engagement
• Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and ability to interface with senior management, peers, and employees

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00Salary Range 2: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
