We’re on the hunt for a Apprentice Painter or Plater on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role :
The apprentice position is focused on training and learning the trade, as well as developing technical skills. Training will be a combination of theory and practical on-the-job training.
Under the supervision of a more experienced painter or plater, the apprentice will be called upon to perform all tasks and activities related to the painting or plating of components of an aerospace or commercial product. In addition, may be required to perform the duties of the Production Worker and General Helper positions.
Tasks :
- Maintain the laboratory and its equipment according to current specifications (pumps, filters, solutions, waste water, ...)
- Paint or plate tooling, commercial type components and flight components.
- Participate in the design and construction of setups for plating or painting.
- Operate coulometer and beta backscatter thickness meter.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment in painting or plating areas.
- Any other related duties.
Minimum qualifications required :
- Reading of drawings.
- Asset - Basic knowledge of the principle of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
- Asset - Knowledge of safe chemical processing requirements and methods.
- Knowledge of spray painting techniques, an asset.
- Ability to retrieve and enter data using a computer system.
- Use of production databases.
- Good knowledge of French.
- Fine manual dexterity.
Education :
- Asset - Secondary school vocational diploma in a related field.
Experience :
- None to two (2) years of experience in commercial and/or aerospace painting or plating.
Linguistic level :
- Basic knowledge of English is an asset

Comments/Special Considerations :
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
