We are looking for a Harness Fitter as part of our Satellite Systems team in our Montreal office.

Role:

Performs harness assembly. In addition, may be required to perform the duties of the production clerk and general assistant position.

Level of Responsibility: Structured work processes. Some analysis is required before independent selection from known processes. 

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Crimp contacts and tensile tests wires.
  • Terminate connectors (D-Sub/Circular/Coaxial).
  • Prepare cables and wires.
  • Make harnesses.
  • Integrate/Terminate harnesses into electronic modules, antennas, and payloads.
  • Mechanically assemble connectors and backshells.
  • Weld or install mechanical points according to specifications.
  • Tinning components.
  • Develop and build accurate mock-ups.
  • Prepare, handle and use polymeric products for bonding components.
  • Inspect, verify and validate the compliance of certain tasks performed by colleagues.
  • Support research and development.
  • All other related tasks.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Reading plans.
    • Basic knowledge of the principle of tolerances and geometric dimensions.
    • Knowledge of IPC-A-620 standards.
    • Ability to retrieve and enter data using a computer system.
    • Use of production databases.
    • Good knowledge of French.
    • Fine manual dexterity.

    Education: DEC or DEP in one of the following fields: mechanics, electromechanics, electronics, aeronautics or equivalent.

    Experience : Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience.

    Level of language skills : Basic knowledge of English is an asset

    Special Considerations:

    Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level and successfully complete the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
