We’re on the hunt for an Intermediate Level Shipper and Receiver on our Robotics and Space Operations team at our Kanata office.

Robotics & Space Operations: With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true. As our Intermediate Shipping and Receiver, you will support the operations within the Kanata MDA location to manage the stockroom, receive goods, parts and supplies, and to ship out critical components to our clients and customers.

ROLE

This position is responsible for performing all tasks necessary to support operations including: 

  • Performing Inventory control to ensure high level of accuracy of parts and pieces, and documenting any discrepancies or faulty materials/equipment
  • Performing all tasks necessary to support operations including kitting for production and maintaining shop supplies
  • Shipping components to our clients and customers
    • Including preparation of shipping and export documentation
    • Including packaging and preparing hardware for shipping
  • Receiving good, parts, supplies and other general delivery
  • Managing the stockroom and organizing the movement of parts, supplies, materials
  • Ensuring the safe use of storage (e.g. maintaining proper shelving and making materials easy to source and sort)
  • Performing other related duties as needed

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires 3-5 years of experience in operational stockroom management, shipping and receiving
  • Knowledge of packing and preparing specialized hardware for shipping
  • Ability to work semi-independent with little supervision
  • Basic computing skills for performing transactional data entry functions, including use of Word, Excel, Email and Internet
  • Experience with an LN ERP system would be an asset
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
