Engineer - Customer Networks

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Engineer - Customer Networks in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our office in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy and maintain large enterprise networks.  
• Primary technical liaison for enterprise end-users regarding network system upgrades, necessary infrastructure and topology changes as well as on-demand network modifications and improvements. 
• Responsible for identification and mitigation of network security vulnerabilities, management of security measures, upgrades and patches on various components of the network.  
• Liaise with multiple departments and vendors to analyze, test and deploy latest hardware and software upgrades. 
• Design, configure, and maintain the backhaul network where data traffic from thousands of sites traverses through.  
• Provide extensive documentation with processes and procedures to aid and assist the Hughes Technical Escalation team as needed. 
• Provide on-call support to the enterprise customer networks.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
• 1 or more years of networking experience in LAN, WAN and IP networking is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
• CCNA certification
• Experience working on data networking protocols and telecommunications
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt to new products and technologies quickly
• Strong analytical, organizational and multitasking skills

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
