Job description
Omitron is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fulfill a full-time position as a Junior Systems Engineer and Tester to support NASAβs Conjunction Assessment and Risk Analysis (CARA) team. You will work with a friendly, motivated team driven to continuously improve our knowledge, workflows, and processes to help NASA and our risk mitigation mission. You must collaborate with engineers, operators, analysts, and other developers to identify short-term and long-term needs and solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong review, interpersonal, and communications skills.
Essential Functions:
- Perform requirements analysis, development, and verification
- Participate in ground system planning to identify requirement updates
- Develop test procedures for pending software releases
- Plan, prepare, and execute ground system tests including factory and user acceptance testing
Required Skills:
- Experience with system engineering and integration processes and tools
- Experience in requirement development, verification and validation
- Experience developing and executing test procedures
- Experience managing change proposals through Configuration Control Board or other approval processes
Desired Skills:
- Experience with development languages included C#, Python, Matlab, etc.
- Experience with flight dynamics operations
- Experience with agile software development processes
US Citizenship required/EEO/AA/E-Verify Participation
Required Experience: +2 years in Testing and/or Systems Engineering
Required Degree: BS in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or related technical degree
Job Location: Hybrid with on-site location in Greenbelt, MD (NASA Goddard Space Flight Center)
