①Software Engineer Intern ➁Operations Intern

  • ①Software Engineer Intern

  • Basic Requirements:
  • Work Status: Residency in Japan with authorization to work.
  • Programming Experience: - Python: Proven professional experience, script debugging and optimization. - Java: General working knowledge. - GraphQL: General working knowledge.
  • Collaborative Tools: Familiarity with Atlassian suite, especially Bitbucket for source code management and Jira for project tracking.
  • CI/CD Principles: Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment methodologies. Experience in setting up, managing, or optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automation: Experience using automation to improve system efficiency would be desired. Experience with tools like Ansible for configuration management would be a plus.
  • Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud based computing.
  • Communication: Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly in English, both written and verbally.

  • Role Responsibilities:
  • Software Development: Development of space operation related middleware using mainly Python and Java, adherence to versioning and documentation standards.
  • CI/CD Contribution: Support in refining CI/CD pipelines, ensuring timely system and software deployments and minimizing integration hitches.
  • Process Optimization: Automate redundant tasks, improving workflow efficiency and reducing error margins.


  • ➁Operations Intern:
  • Working closely with the Ground Controller Teams for mission preparation and support during mission operations.

  • Creation of tools for the Ground Segment infrastructure (Python, Bash, ...)
  • Development of configuration control systems (Git, Ansible, ...)
  • Supporting real-time operations during ispace lunar missions.
  • Interface with the ispace Spacecraft Operators for Mission Control Software management.
  • Interface with ispace sub-system engineering teams to develop/mature operational products, tools, scripts, and automation software.

  • Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Competence with Python programming language
  • Competence with Bash Scripting
  • Good knowledge of Linux environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and on-demand

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in CI/CD tools
  • Knowledge in Windows Powershell
  • Knowledge in Voice over IP protocols
  • Knowledge in Network and Security management

  • Preferred start date: immediate
  • Duration: Immediate to 31 Mar 2023.
