Thermal Facilities Engineer II

Position Purpose: The Thermal Facilities Engineer II will be responsible for facility setup, maintenance, upkeep, and design. This engineer will be working in a team environment, sometimes with remote team members, engaging in test and support of flight spacecraft electronics. Development work will span writing documentations and/or manuals for proper operation of thermal systems, thermal equipment design, and assembly and operation of thermal test equipment.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate thermal chambers and thermal vacuum chambers.
• Configure and calibrate thermal equipment and sensors.
• Troubleshoot issues with thermal test equipment and sensors.
• Track and maintain thermal facility equipment per a preventative maintenance schedule while keeping factory test schedule intact.
• Design test equipment to be used in conjunction with thermal tests (NI DAQ modules, relays,

         switches, valves, pressure sensors, etc.).

• Write and execute procedures and / or checklists.
• Give effective presentations to the team and customers.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department.
• Assist with vibration and shock testing.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Education:

• 2+ years of experience with thermal chambers, thermal vacuum chambers, or related.
• Experience with data acquisition systems (Cosmos, NI DAQ, LabJack, etc.)
• Experience troubleshooting, configuring and calibrating equipment and sensors.
• Experience with writing and executing procedures and / or checklists.
• Ability to work closely with engineering teams and independently with some direction
• Excellent communication, analytical, communication, organizational, strategic, and statistical skills.
• An effective sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, small company environment.
• Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.) Excel programming with VBA experience a plus.
• BS degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
• Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with vibration testing.
• Experience with cryogenics and high-pressure gases and associated plumbing and fittings.
• Experience with space flight hardware.
• Experience in a production environment.

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the
