Maxar Space is currently seeking a Principal Embedded Flight Software Engineer to join our team in our Palo Alto, CA offices. In this role, you will work on a variety of challenging projects including NASA’s Artemis program, the Power Propulsion Element.

  Maxar Space is currently seeking a Senior Embedded Flight Software Engineer to join our team in Westminster, CO. This position may also be performed remotely within the U.S. In this role, you will work on a variety of challenging projects including NASA’s Artemis program, the Power Propulsion Element, and the Human Landing System destined for the moon.

  Responsibilities:

  •             Design and implement software for embedded Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS).

  •             Develop, document, and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for flight software systems.

  •             Develop software verification plans, unit level and open loop test suites, and procedures, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure that software system requirements are met.

  •             Perform software product life cycle management.

  •             Develop, select, tailor, and deploy software processes, tools, and metrics.

  •             Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, processes, and system-specific issues.

  Minimum requirements:

  •             Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

  •             Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.

  •             15 years of software development experience

  •             Ada and embedded C++ programing skills on multicore-processor architecture

● The base pay for this position within California is: $162,000.00 - $270,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
